Literature Text

Grandpa's good-mornings were always there,
Reading the newspaper on his rocking chair,
The care in his eyes, and his loving heart,
Made this day, today, his day, so hard,

How much I cried, and the incidences shook me,
Headaches captured my head, blinded me to see,
All the tears in eyes for this beloved man,
With the lovely smile of his and the natural tan,

His soul is wandering and his body is resting in a coffin,
His view reminded me of the tea he made and muffins,
The delight in the morning and the singing of birds,
And the chess challenges which I feared but dared,

The Old fella, who taught me much about life,
That the things I should care of in world are five,
Today, tomorrow, work, love and mourn,
As those come to you without a sign or warn!
